Do you have any insight into how social media has been embraced by the field of public relations? I’m looking for information from practitioners for a paper I am writing for the International Communication Association conference. I’ll continue to update with blog with interested studies in this area.

I recently attended the American Academy of Advertising Conference in San Mateo, Calif., to present a paper co-authored with Andi Kuhn, a graduate student here at USF. Our paper, titled “From MySpace to Brandspace: Elements of Brand-Sponsored Profiles” analyzed the elements of 50 MySpace brand profiles along the dimensions of online marketing, multimedia, interactivity, and brand affinity.
